Module 1: Welcome Note and Introduction: Dr Shubhi from Medical Learning Hub welcomed all the participants on both online and onsite modes.
Module 2: Introduction to advanced airway management: Dr. Amit Kohli, Professor, Dept of Anaesthesia, MAMC, New Delhi, introduced the esteemed faculty who would guide the participants through the intricacies of advanced airway management. His opening lecture was on the introduction to advanced airway management His lecture covered crucial topics such as patient assessment, strategic steps, the use of rescue airway devices, skills, and the essential aspects of oxygenation and intubation. The session was interactive, with Dr. Kohli discussing real-life case scenarios with the audience.
Module 3: Review on Supraglottic Airway devices: Dr. Deepak Kumar, Assistant Professor, Dept of Anaesthesia, AIIMS Patna session was rich with detailed explanations on the types of supraglottic devices, He also discussed on the journey of Supraglottic Airway Devices, and their advantages over intubation, along with the techniques for their insertion and their practical use in various clinical scenarios.
Module 4: Videolaryngoscopy & Endotracheal intubation: Dr. Rahil Singh, Asso. Professor, Dept of Anaesthesia, MAMC, New Delhi expertly covered the evolution of laryngoscopy, the principles of Videolaryngoscopy, and its advantages over direct laryngoscopy.
Module 5: Fiberoptic bronchoscopy. Indication, Contra indication & trouble shooting: Dr. Amit Kohli, Professor, Dept of Anaesthesia, MAMC, New Delhi discussed fiberoptic bronchoscopy, covering indications, contraindications, and troubleshooting. His explanation of the procedure's utility and handling techniques was invaluable for the participants.
Module 6: New age Endotracheal & Double Lumen Tubes: Dr. Farah Husain, Specialist Grade 1, Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, MAMC and Lok Nayak Hospital, New Delhi, India discussed new-age Endotracheal and Double Lumen Tubes. She explained the nuances of one-lung ventilation and the selection of the correct Double Lumen Tubes, providing insights into their advantages, disadvantages, and complications.
Module 7: Cricothyroidotomy & Percutaneous Tracheostomy with new age tracheostomy tubes: Dr. Abhijit Kumar, Assistant Professor, Dept of Anaesthesia, AIIMS Kalyani shared his expertise on Cricothyroidotomy and Percutaneous Tracheostomy. His detailed explanation of different types of cricothyroidotomy, emergency procedures, and post-procedural care. Dr. Karthik Raman Who is a Senior Medical officer at Dept of Emergency Medicine, LHMC & SSK Hospital, New Delhi explained Cricothyroidotomy emergency procedure with the help of a video.
Module 8: Airway USG in Airway assessment & management: Dr. Snigdha Singh, Specialist, Dept of Anaesthesia, Loknayak Hospital, New Delhi focused on the objectives, applications, and methods of endotracheal tube confirmation using fiberoptic and ultrasound techniques brought the day's learning full circle.
Module 9: Hands on workshop: After the scientific lectures, hands on workshop was conducted in groups by the faculty.
Module 10: Troubleshooting and doubt clearing sessions: This Q & A session allowed participants to clarify doubts and deepen their understanding. The CME ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks, leaving everyone with a sense of accomplishment and a renewed commitment to excellence in airway management.
