Benjamin Njoga Njihia, MD

I am a General Surgeon with interests in General Surgery lie in Trauma Surgery and Surgical Oncology. In my current role as Medical Superintendent of a Level 5 Hospital, I have leadership experience in oversight and facilitation within the healthcare sector. Further, I have teaching experience offering practical demonstration and didactic tutorials in Human Anatomy to undergraduate students of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Nursing.

My additional expertise is in the leverage of data for use in organizational management with a background in the development and deployment of scalable, database-driven enterprise systems. I envision using my blend of leadership, clinical training, basic science pedagogy and information technology to impart relevance and dynamism to the teaching & practice of the life sciences. With a growing repertoire in clinical and bench research, I am an asset to institutions seeking to initiate or expand linkages and collaborations towards a larger research footprint in the region.

My basic science research interests are in medical education and non-communicable diseases contextualized in the African setting. I have laid specific emphasis on oncology and trauma in my clinical research.
