Dr. Anneke Hesseling, Desmond Tutu TBCentre, Stellenbosch University, South Africa, MD, PhD, is a Distinguished Professor in Paediatrics and Child Health at Stellenbosch University where she is the Director of the Desmond Tutu TB Centre. She holds a South African National Research Foundation SARChi chair in PaediatricTuberculos is and has published more than 280 peer-reviewed papers. Her group’s wprk is dedicated to research in tuberculosis in childrenand other special populations, with a special interest in therapeutics, prevention and diagnosis and with a strong emphasis on capacity building in resource-limited settings.
