PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Internal Medicine physician providing consultation to patients from diverse backgrounds on disorders and comorbidities,
  • including: diabetes, hypertension seizure disorders, deep vein thrombosis, chronic anaemias in TB and respiratory cases as well as medical complications and drug side effects, such as: dyselectrolytemia, cardiac arrhythmias, nephro and neurotoxicities, see more than fifty new and nearly hundred new follow up cases of TB-diabetes cases in a month
  • Call upon expertise in management of drug-sensitive and drug-resistant TB-HIV cases (MDR/XDR-TB)
  • Have special expertise in management of adverse drug reactions of second line anti-tubercular drugs including the new TB drugs-Bedaquiline and Delamanid and am member of the Insitute’s Pharmacovigilance Commitee since its inception in 2017
  • Facilitated management of ADRs of new TB drugs (Bedaquiline and Delamanid) at NITRD; prepared two internal documents on drug co-prescriptions and cardiac toxicity of BDQ (please see Annexures 1 and 2)
