DR. ASHOK RATTAN

Prof Ashok Rattan is a medical microbiologist by profession. He was conferred APJ Abdul Kalam Award for Lifetime Contribution to Medical Sciences in 2018. He is at present Advisor in Pathkind Laboratories.
1.He has held important positions in academics: 
 a.All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi; 
 b.JN Medical college, Aligarh; 
 c.Mahatma Gandhi Medical University, Jaipur and 
 d.Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, New Delhi); and 
 e.Sharjah Medical College, UAE
2.In industrial research (Ranbaxy New Drug Discovery and Fortis Clinical Research Ltd) 
3.In Diagnostic labs (Religare SRL Diagnostics, Star Metropolis and Pathkind Labs); 
4.In tertiary care hospital (JN Medical College, AIIMS and Medanta the Medicity) and 
5.Public Health (CAREC, PAHO/WHO), Public Health Technology Transfer of PHFI
6.He has published over 100 research papers in peer reviewed international journals, 
7.guided over 40 students for their MD/MS/PhD and 
8.Is named in 30 international patents. 
9.He is also the author of NBT sponsored book published by Churchill Livingstone, Antimicrobials in Laboratory Medicine (2000)
10.Has contributed more than a dozen chapters in different books
11.He has conducted workshops 
 a.On WHONET in all nine SEARO countries;
 b.On different aspects of medical education in KL Wig CMET, AIIMS
 c.On Tuberculosis and Lab in care of HIV/AIDS in the Caribbean and 
 d.Infections in Gynaecology in UAE, Oman and Behrain.
12.While In college he captained the university cricket and Lawn Tennis teams.
