Dr K S Sachdeva is a qualified Public Health, Health Management, Chest and TB Specialist with over 32 years’ professional experience in Indian government health system.
He is currently holding the position of Regional Director, South-East Asia Office of International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease.
Most recently he led one of the biggest national programs in India - National TB Elimination Program (formally called RNTCP) of Government of India as Deputy Director General at Central TB Division MOHFW
Also served as a nodal officer for Country Coordination Mechanism (CCM) of Global Fund for TB, HIV and Malaria in India.
Known for his strong analytical and managerial skills in the field of public health, Dr Sachdeva has strong interest in innovations, decentralization of services for better patient care and building capacity of each person working for improving health of the masses.
He has more than 12 years of experience in TB and HIV/AIDS Control and provides strong leadership for TB elimination in the country.
Prior to this he has led the Essential Drugs Programme for Government of NCT Delhi for three years and also have two decades of clinical experience at a tertiary care hospital.
He is actively involved as an expert in various committees and technical working groups at national and international level and has ~ 90 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
