Dr. Keith Barton is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, where he has served since 1996. He also holds the position of Professor of Ophthalmology at the Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London, and is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry at Wenzhou Medical University, China.
In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Barton co-chairs the Ophthalmology Futures Forums, providing leadership in global discussions on advancements in ophthalmology. He has been involved in several directorships and trusteeships, including Vision Medical Events (UK) Limited, Vision Futures (UK) Limited, and the International Glaucoma Surgery Registry (UK) Limited.
Qualifications : Dr. Barton is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. His academic journey began with a BSc in Medical Microbiology (First Class Honors) and an MB BCh BAO from The Queen’s University of Belfast. He later earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the same institution, focusing on experimental studies in ophthalmology. His career is distinguished by significant contributions to ophthalmology, particularly in glaucoma treatment and research.
